GME currently has openings for senior engineering technicians. Applicants must have a minimum of two years experience, nuclear density gauge certification, and ACI certification of NICET or ASNT Level 2 certificate. Senior Engineering Technicians perform varied, moderately complex tasks associated with medium to large projects under the direction of the laboratory supervisor, project manager or more senior professional. Field tasks include concrete testing, soil testing, concrete batch plant observations, grout and mortar testing, NDE of concrete (Windsor Probe, Swiss Hammer), inspection of pier foundation installation, asphalt test strip observation and field sampling, high-strength bolt testing, and post-tensioning and reinforcing steel inspection. Laboratory tasks include CBR strength test on soils, tests on concrete mix verification and trial batch mixes, tests on brick, block and stone, and bend tests on steel.
